MP3 Magic makes it easy for you to split and join MP3 files saved
by Replay Radio, Replay Music or any other program.
To open MP3 Magic, double click the MP3 Magic icon on your desktop.
Here's what MP3 Magic looks like when you begin:
You can split MP3 files in three ways:
By Selection -- Listen to your MP3 file, and choose places
where you want to chop the file.
By Time -- You can pick how long each segment will be.
By Size -- You can split MP3 files into smaller sized files
by choosing the maximum size of each segment.
You can also Join two files as well.
Splitting Files by Selections
To select places to split an MP3 file:
Open MP3 Magic, and choose the file to split by clicking Open.
Choose Method 1 (by selections) and click
Next. The Selection dialog appears:
You can listen to the file, and press pause
to stop playback. Click Add a breakpoint from current frame
to add a new breakpoint.
When you're finished adding breakpoints, click Next.
Your file will be splitinto several new
tracks.
Hint: Splits will only be made between the Breakpoints
you select. For example, if you have 0 and 163 selected as Breakpoints, you
will get just one MP3 file extracted.
Splitting Files by Time
To split an MP3 file into segments by time:
Open MP3 Magic, and choose the file to split by clicking Open.
Choose Method 2 (by time), and click Next.
The Split By Time dialog appears:
Enter the length of each segment (in seconds).
Click Next. The file will be split.
Splitting Files by Size
To split an MP3 file into segments by file size:
Open MP3 Magic, and choose the file to split by clicking Open.
Choose Method 3 (by size), and click
Next. The Spit By Size dialog appears:
Enter the size of each segment, then click Next.
The file will be split into equal segments.
Joining Files
To join two or more files together into one:
From the main screen, select Join MP3, and click Next. The
Join screen appears:
Click Add and pick one or more files to add to the list. (Hold down
Ctrl to select multiple files from the same folder).
Click Join.
The Recompress Option
After you initiate a Split request, you'll see this option:
If you select Recompress MP3, the output files will be converted
to WAV, and then back to MP3.
The advantage is that the final file may be more compatible with
some MP3 players and CD burners. If you have trouble using the split MP3 files,
check this option.
The disadvantage is that the sound quality will be slightly lower.
